Gift List & Ideas does not collect any of your data. What you enter is stored on your device and, if iCloud sync is on, in your own iCloud account, where WaresHQ cannot read it. There is no account with us, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no third-party code of any kind. Nothing you save is ever shared with another person, the app has no sharing feature, and none is planned.

Everything you enter (the people you buy for, their relationships, dates and preferences, gift ideas with their notes, prices, links and photos, event lists and budgets, and your settings) is stored in the app's own container on your device. It is included in your device backups if you have those turned on, under your control and Apple's backup terms.

Nothing is sent to WaresHQ. We have no server that could receive it.

iCloud sync is free and is not part of Pro. It is off until you turn it on in the app's Settings, so nothing leaves your device unless you ask for it. With it on, the app mirrors its records to the private iCloud database of the Apple ID signed in on the device, using Apple's CloudKit. That database belongs to you. WaresHQ has no access to it and cannot read, list, or recover its contents. You can turn sync off in the app's Settings, and remove the data from iCloud under your device's iCloud settings. Apple's iCloud terms apply to that storage. Deleting a record in the app removes it from every device using that account, and signing out of iCloud on a device clears that device's synced copy while iCloud keeps it.

The app works fully with sync off, with the network off, or with sync failing.

The optional Gifts Pro unlock is handled by Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment and tells the app whether the purchase is active. WaresHQ never sees your payment details or your Apple ID.

If you turn on the daily digest, the app schedules reminders locally on your device. No push notification service is involved, so the contents of a reminder never leave the device.

Attaching a photo to a person or an idea is a Pro feature. The image is resized on your device before it is saved, and is stored in the app's container alongside everything else. It is never uploaded to WaresHQ. If iCloud sync is on, it goes to your own iCloud with the rest of your records, which is why the app stores a smaller copy rather than the original.

The app adds the names you have saved and the titles of your ideas to your device's own Spotlight index, so you can find them from the home screen. That index belongs to your device and is not sent to WaresHQ.

On iPhone and iPad you can send a link, a piece of text, or an image to the app from the share sheet. What you send is saved against a person on your device, the same as anything you type. It is not sent anywhere else.

Export writes a folder to the location you choose in the Files app, containing your data as JSON and CSV plus any photos you have attached. If that location is a cloud folder, that is your choice and your provider's terms apply. Export is free in every version and every tier, with or without Pro.

The app has no importer, so it never reads a file you have not explicitly exported.

The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new date. The app collects nothing, so a change here would be to the wording rather than to what is collected.
